Double Membrane Biogas Storage

Double Membrane Biogas Storage tanks provide efficient and safe storage of harsh biogas from 100 m3 to 12,610 m3.

It allows biogas facility’s to store gas during:

  • Off peak times / weekends to provide more generation in peak times.
  • Maximise power generation when the spot price is high
  • Maintenance and shut downs.

There are two types available depending on your site and what equipment you use.

  • Standard Biogas Storage
  • Top Mounted Biogas Storage

Standard Biogas Storage – Ball

The TECON Standard Biogas Storage System is installed on a concrete foundation and consists of an outer, an inner, and a bottom membrane which store gas safely and efficiently.

A low pressure blower, pressure release valves and non-return valves control the flow of gas in and out of the holder.

The TECON Standard Biogas Storage System is used primarily for water treatment plants and industrial applications and ranges in size from 100 m3 to 12,610 m3.

Top Mounted Biogas Storage

The tank mounted TECON Double Membrane Biogas Storage System consists of an outer membrane, an inner membrane and an optional brace system with a center pole. The gas storage function is completed by the inner membrane, which in conjunction with the supporting air blower, provides a constant operating pressure.

The outer membrane provides the shape of the biogas storage and absorbs loads from wind and snow. The brace system prevents the inner membrane from being damaged by the agitator at low biogas levels.

The Top-Mounted Biogas Storage System is mainly used in agricultural and industrial applications. Any shape can be custom built to fit specific building requirements.
